Sarasota Courthouse Wedding | Diana + Robert

Some things don’t need to be big to feel big. They just need to be right. Diana and Robert knew that. They drove up from Naples, checked into the Ritz-Carlton Sarasota, made a whole weekend out of it, and on their one year anniversary, they made it official at the Historic Sarasota County Courthouse. Not because anyone told them to. Because it felt exactly like them.

When the First One Didn’t Feel Right

When they went to pick up their marriage license near home, they looked around and just knew. This wasn’t it. It didn’t feel like them. So Robert started searching. He came across the Sarasota courthouse and told Diana. She did her own search, found a photographer she felt drawn to, reached out, and yep. Same person. Same place. Same pull. That kind of alignment doesn’t happen by accident. That’s just the universe doing its thing.

The Anniversary Weekend They Deserved

They drove up from Naples, checked into the Ritz, and made a whole weekend out of celebrating themselves, exactly as they should have. The courthouse ceremony was intimate, quick, and completely theirs. No big guest list, no pressure, no performance. Just them, their vows, and a room full of history.

The Portraits Around the Property

After the ceremony, we had the whole property to ourselves. The Historic Sarasota County Courthouse is stunning inside and out. Spanish colonial architecture, ornate iron gates, stone columns, and details around every corner. These two were naturals in front of the camera, which made the whole session feel easy and real.

Planning Your Own Sarasota Courthouse Wedding?

The Sarasota County Clerk’s Office handles marriage licenses and ceremonies at the Historic Courthouse. Florida residents need to apply at least three days before the ceremony. Out-of-state residents can marry the same day. Bring valid IDs and your social security numbers.
