Y’all… sometimes you get to witness a dream come true. And this? This was one of those sessions that will stay with me FOREVER.
Let me tell you about Molly.
As a Sarasota maternity photographer, I’ve had the absolute honor of capturing so many beautiful families. And every once in a while, a session comes along that just hits different. This was one of them. This wasn’t just a maternity session. This was a full-circle moment. A whole chapter of someone’s story unfolding right in front of my camera… and I had tears in my eyes before we even got started.

This is Molly’s second maternity session with me. In between, I’ve had the honor of photographing her family… watching their little boy grow, watching their love deepen, watching their story unfold in real time. When she reached out and told me they were expecting again… I literally had tears in my eyes. Because I knew. I knew how deeply they had wanted this. And seeing it actually happen? The universe showing up and saying yes? That’s everything.
Somewhere along the way, Molly stopped being “just a client.” We talk about motherhood, Disney, books, life… She’s one of those people you just feel lucky to know. And getting to be her photographer? That’s the bonus I don’t take lightly. Not even a little bit.
Why the Celery Fields Is One of My Favorite Maternity Locations in Sarasota
If you’re looking for a Sarasota maternity photographer and haven’t heard of the Celery Fields yet… let me put you on!! This place is an absolute GEM. It’s a nature preserve in Sarasota with rolling green hills, wide open skies, wildflowers, and water views that paint the most dreamy backdrop you could imagine for a maternity session.

What I LOVE about the Celery Fields for maternity sessions:
Golden hour here is UNREAL. The way the light rolls across those open hills and reflects off the water behind… you literally cannot take a bad photo. The whole sky turns into a painting and your mama is right there in the middle of it. Glowing, gorgeous, magic.
There’s SO much variety. Within one session, we moved through wildflower fields, open grassy hills, areas with beautiful tall grasses… every shot looks completely different and each one is stunning. You’re getting a full editorial spread without ever leaving the park.
It’s peaceful and private. Maternity sessions are emotional. They’re tender. You don’t want to feel like you’re performing in front of a crowd. The Celery Fields gives you space to just BE. And that’s when the real magic happens.

Molly, You Are a Whole GODDESS
I’ve said it once and I’ll say it a thousand times. This woman ROCKED IT. Pink tulle, floral embroidery, that auburn hair catching the golden light… she was floating through those fields like she belonged there. Like the whole landscape showed up just for her. Because honestly? It did.

There were moments during this session where I’d lower my camera and just… breathe it in. Because what was happening in front of me was so much bigger than photography. It was a woman stepping fully into her power. A family completing itself. A prayer being answered.

And THAT shot above… with the wildflowers draped across her bump and both sets of hands holding them? That’s the one. That’s the whole session in one frame. I am OBSESSED and I will not apologize for it.
Their Little Boy. aka the Star of the Whole Show 🥹
Y’all. THE BOY. I cannot. He stole every single scene he walked into and he did it effortlessly, the way only little kids can.

This kid kissed her bump. Hugged it. Pressed his little cheek against it with the biggest grin I’ve ever seen. He already loves his sibling so fiercely and that baby isn’t even here yet. I promise you, I held it together… barely.

This is what maternity sessions are REALLY about. Not the dress (though the dress was stunning). Not the location (though the location was perfection). It’s about capturing the love that’s already there. The family that’s already whole, even before the newest little one arrives.
If you’re a mama-to-be wondering whether to include your older kiddos in your maternity session… the answer is a thousand times YES. These are the shots you’ll be showing your kids when they’re grown. This is the stuff that matters.
A Love That Shows Up in Every Frame
I also have to talk about this couple for a second because WOW. The way he looks at her. The way she leans into him. There’s something so grounded and real about the love between these two, and it comes through in every single photo without either of them trying.

That image above with the little boy looking up at his parents kissing against that massive Sarasota sunset sky? Frame it. Put it above the mantle. That’s the one you show at the wedding someday.
The Family Shot That Has My WHOLE Heart

LOOK AT THIS FAMILY. The open field, the golden light stretching out behind them, the little boy parked right at their feet grinning like he owns the place… this is what joy looks like. This is what answered prayers look like. I am so grateful I got to be there.

Thinking About a Maternity Session at the Celery Fields?
If you’re a mama-to-be in the Sarasota area and you’re dreaming of a session like this one… I want to hear from you!! As a Sarasota maternity photographer, the Celery Fields is honestly one of my absolute favorite spots in all of Florida to shoot. Here’s what you need to know:
When to book: Most mamas book their maternity session between 28–34 weeks. It’s the sweet spot. Your bump is beautifully full but you’re still feeling comfortable and mobile. Don’t wait too long!
What to wear: Flowy gowns photograph BEAUTIFULLY here. Soft colors, tulle, floral details… all of it works magically with the natural textures of the Celery Fields.
When to shoot: Golden hour. Always golden hour. The light at the Celery Fields at sunset is absolutely otherworldly. As you can see from every single image in this post. Plan for the hour before sunset and budget about 90 minutes for your session.
Including family: YES. Bring the partner. Bring the kids. Bring the dog if you want!! Some of the most breathtaking images from Molly’s session happened the moment her little boy walked into the frame. Don’t overthink it. Just bring the people you love.
You can check out more of my Sarasota family photography work and see all the session details on The Maternity Deets page. I’d absolutely love to be your photographer for this season of life.
Molly, Thank You.
To Molly and her beautiful family. Thank you for trusting me with this. Thank you for letting me be the one holding the camera when your story unfolded like this. Watching you step into this season of life… it’s one of the greatest gifts my job has ever given me.
You are a goddess. Your family is everything. And that baby is SO lucky to be coming into so much love.
I can’t wait to meet her. 🤍
