Some couples spend two years planning a wedding. Sarah and Jasen spent that time building a life instead – and then flew down from St. Louis, gathered their kids, and celebrated a beautiful Siesta Key beach elopement at golden hour. No big production. No stress. Just them, the people they love most, and a reminder that sometimes the simplest weddings are the most meaningful.
Sarah looked absolutely stunning. I mean that in the way that goes beyond the dress – she was glowing, relaxed, completely herself. And the two of them together… they laughed through almost the entire evening. That kind of easy, genuine laughter you can’t fake or pose. From start to finish, it was one of those days that reminded me exactly why I love photographing intimate weddings and elopements.
The Setup
Here’s the thing about beach elopements – they sound simple on paper. And they are. But there’s a certain kind of magic that happens when you strip everything down to what’s actually important. Sarah and Jasen hired an incredible officiant through Weddings with Grace, added on my content creator add-on with Content by Rach – so they walked away with both photos and video content from the day – and then they just… showed up. Present, relaxed, and completely ready.
They flew in from the St. Louis area, had a sunset ceremony right on the sand, and are heading back home to celebrate with family and friends. The whole thing was easy. That’s not a word I use lightly. But this day genuinely was.
The Ceremony
Siesta Key at sunset is… honestly, hard to put into words if you haven’t seen it in person. The sand is that famously fine white powder. The sky turns every shade of orange and pink at the same time. And when you’re standing there barefoot, saying I do to your person with your kids right beside you… it doesn’t feel real. It just feels right. Sarah walked up looking like something out of a dream. And then she laughed – the real kind – and it was perfect.
The ceremony was quick, meaningful, and exactly what it should be. No filler. No fluff. Just the words that mattered, in a place that was almost unfairly beautiful.
The Kids Made the Day
I say this every single time, and I mean it every single time – kids at elopements bring something you simply cannot manufacture. The candid moments, the joy of watching mom and dad get married, the way they just exist in these photos without trying… it’s some of my favorite work to shoot. Sarah and Jasen’s kids were incredible, and they were a blast the whole day. We had the best time.

The Portraits
After the ceremony we walked the beach and just… let the light do its thing. Golden hour on Siesta Key is something else. Sarah and Jasen had this ease about them the entire time – laughing together, pulling each other close, cracking jokes between frames. You could see it in every single photo. No posing stress, no stiffness. Just two people who are genuinely in love, completely in it, on one of the best days of their lives.
