Trust the light… and a little bit of the universe. It had been overcast all day. We both knew it. But we decided to show up and trust the process. Consider where you’ll go after. Lido Beach sits right next to St. Armands Circle, one of the most charming spots in all of Sarasota for a post-proposal dinner or celebratory drinks. It makes for a perfect, seamless evening.

When the Clouds Finally Broke

Here’s what I’ll never forget about this session.

It had been grey and overcast literally all day. Not ideal for a sunset proposal. But Dylan trusted the process, and honestly, so did I.

The second he got down on one knee, the clouds broke. Just like that. The light poured in from the horizon, the sky turned every shade of gold and pink, and the Gulf of Mexico absolutely put on a show for them.

I’ve photographed a lot of proposals. That moment, the exact timing of that light, felt like something more than luck. It felt like the universe giving everyone a little wink… like yep, this is exactly where they’re supposed to be.

Megan’s Reaction Said Everything

And then there was Megan.

Her excitement was the kind that fills up everyone around her. The happy shock, the laughter, the tears… all of it radiating from her in the best possible way. She made this entire session a blast from start to finish, and her energy is one of those things I’ll carry with me for a long time.

These two are just joy. Genuine, easy, electric joy. And it was such a privilege to get to witness this moment, share that sunset with them, and celebrate such a huge chapter in their story.
